Joe Barr is an Audit Partner with the Firm.  Prior to joining Swenson, Joe Barr was a Partner with Ernst & Young LLP and has developed a broad base of technical experience in serving many businesses including small, entrepreneurial companies as well as large multinational publicly owned corporations.  Industries that have benefited from his experiences include oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, heavy equipment sales, distribution, and retail companies as well as professional service organizations.

Joe has over 30 years of public accounting experience with the international public accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP, half of which was in the headquarters’ practice office in Cleveland, Ohio and most currently in the Inland Empire office plus an additional nine years with Swenson. He addressed current matters in accounting and auditing in year-end update seminars to businesses and staff and was selected to direct the process improvement portion of audit innovation methodology to his partners.

Joe is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Ohio.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He is a member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee of a publicly owned bank headquartered in the Inland Empire.  Joe is also an Executive Fellow for the University of California at Riverside School of Business and on the Advisory Council for the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, a member of the Board of Trustees for Riverside Community Hospital, Finance Committee for Riverside Community Health Foundation and Board of Directors for Riverside Art Museum.
